The Money Makers is a rare long player that gathers instrumental reggae cuts from Jackie Mittoo's 1978 output and spotlights his gritty, infectious organ style over classic riddims that trace back to his work at Studio One. Mittoo was a central figure in Jamaican music history, a founding member of The Skatalites and key contributor to ska, rocksteady and reggae through many different roles as a musician, songwriter, arranger and producer. The Money Makers blends those killer organ-led grooves with deep funk and reggae rhythms so if you've a soft spot for vintage Jamaican instrumentals, do not sleep on this one.
