PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! OLD and MINT long gone rare limited edition European vinyl issue with unique cover art of thee impossible & off the charts expensive 4 figures dollars valued blues psych monster MARIANI -- a 1970 guitar blues garage monster from Texas and one of the top collectible rock private pressings of the highest order ... the playing on the legendary Mariani "Perpetuum Mobile" is equal to the legend ....
The legendary Mariani Perpetuum Mobile blues psych LP was only released as a promo on the Sonobeat label. Impossibly rare and in the greatest of demand, most all collectors will never hold in their hands an original copy. Not a record that you find every day, month, year, or even ever. This is one of the most searched psych lp´s and was only made as a very limited (100) promo issue that went nowhere at the time and not many copies survived out of the 100 made.
This album was recorded in the free air of the outdoors. The band set up their instruments out on a field and made these recordings.
Beside its rarity, it is a great psych LP with the young guitarist Eric Johnson. What a guitarist and he was only 15 or 16 when recording these Mariani tracks
Mariani, by the way, was the namesake of said drummer, Vince Mariani. Mariani was a good enough drummer to seriously audition to be Mitch Mitchell's replacement in Jimi Hendrix's band. Instead of landing that coveted gig, he was persuaded by Austin producer and label owner Bill Posey to form his own band. Having jammed with Johnson previously, he enlisted young Eric to be his guitarist, and along with bass player/vocalist Jay Podolnick, they soon began to compose several songs together. (A fascinating, more detailed history of this short-lived band can be found on the website of Posey's record company, Sonobeat).
And the music itself? It's more than a little bit like Cream. Being that this is Vince's band, he and his drums do get the spotlight a lot of the time, but Lil' Eric was given plenty of space to shine. He wasn't in Clapton's league yet, as you might expect, but he was already more than halfway there. In the opening track "Searching For A New Dimension", he shows a nice mastery of the wah wah pedal, which was nice thing to be good at in 1970. In "Re-Birth Day", which was edited down for a single release, Johnson shows off some flash in his guitar break that provides a strong hint of the solo career he would launch many years later. The instrumental "The Unknown Path" is largely a Hendrix exercise. In many other spots he shows yet more of that promise; maybe there's not a distinctive style yet as he had just recently absorbed Wheels Of Fire. Oh, but did I tell you he was only 15 or 16 years old at the time? Although the band went on the road to promote their album, touring with the likes of Deep Purple, Perpetuum Mobile didn't make much of an impact, having no promotion. Talk about a diamond in the rough...
