Description
Only available for a week in 1977 before being recalled by Folkways via an injunction brought by Dylan’s attorneys against the label, precious few of the AUTHENTIC, BLACK LABEL PRESSINGS were sold prior to the album’s recall. Most not sold during its single week of availability were recalled and destroyed. Dylan was not particularly happy about the personal phone conversations between himself and garbologist A. J. Weberman (who also recorded the conversations) that make up most of this LP, thus his swift action against the label. Also included on this album are the songs “A.J. Weberman” by David Peel & Group and “Father Bruce” by Grace Slick. Copies of this album have begun showing up on internet auction sites with a blue label. These copies are counterfeits. The album only saw one pressing - with a black label! Folkways was a small New York City label that rarely, if ever, did more than single-run pressings.
Textured paper cover is Near Mint/Mint, no seam splits, ring wear or writing. Slight evidence of sticker removal (?) front lower right corner. Disc and labels are MINT, look to be unplayed. VERY RARE in any condition.
Reasonable starting price with no reserve. Winning bidder pays actual cost for mailing (your choice: Priority Mail, Media Mail, Delivery Confirmation, Insurance) with secure packing. Air Mail for overseas purchases. Ignore shipping and handling information below. Payment by Pay Pal, check or money order.
