Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   CANADA ~ 1 LP 8.50; 2 discs $10.00; 3 discs $11.50; over 4 please contact us for shipping costs.   AUSTRALIA, THAILAND, JAPAN ~ 1 LP $18.00; 2 discs $23.00; 3 discs $27.00; 4 discs $32.00. TOP COPY! MINT CLEAN ***STILL IN ORIGINAL FACTORY SHRINK WRAPPER

SCARCE original 1973 first USA vinyl pressing of a brutal hard guitar trio who managed a couple of sought/respected collectible albums in the early 70's UK.

Hard Stuff were formed after the drummer Paul Hammond and guitarist John DuCann left Atomic Rooster. A very heavy three piece who were not just hard rock but experimented with their sound. The first three tracks will have you moving, though all of the tracks are beneficial to the albums overall success. Basically the brainchild of famed guitarist John DuCann who was in Andromeda, Atomic Rooster and other noted heavies of the late 60's early 70's...

BOLEX DEMENTIA was the second of the two LPs HARD STUFF recorded, and it's hard to imagine a better example of blistering 70s heavy rock than their two Lp's. Not only do they have brutally distorted guitar riffs, they also have the benefit of good songwriting, resulting in a rare combination of both guts and brains. Split vocal duties also help, with the Johns du Cann and Gustafson sharing the mikestand. Bolex Dementia is not as dark as Bulletproof though it kicks into hot wired funky-guitar outbursts in hard 'n heavy structures all throughout within the music, very Hard Stuff indeed! Their ventures into HEAVY funk is unique in its style, which master guitarist John Cann manages to pull off quite well. After all, A lot of hard rock bands seemed to get hit with funk poisoning by 1973. This trio develops it into their ripping sound in a very affective way...The highlight of the album is definitely 'Spider's Web'. It starts off with a nice drum and quirky guitar line ensemble and then to a real catchy & overloaded funk guitar riff with an infectious chorus. One of the album's crowning achievements. Elsewhere, there is some oddball material like the drunken sounding 'Mermany', clearly the best song on the album, along with the ominous title cut, "Bolex Dementia", an instrumental with radio voices appearing. A very unsettling cut, that same "future-shock" creepy atmosphere which one first perceives on parts of the Quatermass LP which was an offshoot of Hard Stuff.
