On offer here is the near impossible to find Nimbus Supercut pressing of Miles Davis' legendary 'Kind Of Blue', in astounding near mint condition and still in it's original shrinkwrap!
Mastered and pressed exclusively for readers of Hi-Fi Today by Nimbus Records, this was only ever available by mail order from a now defunct 1980s magazine in a very limited (500, I think) run. It is absolutely the best sounding version of this fantastic album I have ever heard and I am only parting with it because I have duplicated the recordings in a Mosaic Records box set I have recently acquired - the Nimbus pressing sounds better but I can't justify keeping them both.
I don't ever grade a secondhand record as 'Mint' because once it is opened and/or played, it isn't 'Mint', no matter how carefully it has been looked after. The vinyl of this copy is graded, therefore, as Near Mint (NM), which is as good as I would ever give and is given because it was only ever very carefully handled and played back using top quality equipment (A Linn LP12/Ekos/Troika or Orbe/SME V/MC7500). I doubt you will ever see a better copy of this album ever again - it is in superb condition.
The sleeve is graded as Excellent (EX) due to some minor wear to the opening edge, a light crease near the opening edge and a slight ding to the bottom left corner. The light crease and small ding have been there since new because of heavy handling by our wonderful postage services (and because a replacement copy wasn't available at the time due to the pressing selling out so fast), and the slight wear I mention is from storage - rest assured that it will be packed so that no further postal damage occurs. I am, as I hope my feedback will confirm, very honest (some would say harsh) when it comes to grading because I want to be completely open - I am sure that other sellers would fail to mention these 'flaws', probably justifiably considering them insignificant, but I want buyers to be pleased with their purchase (and I'm sure they will be).
The labels are free of wear and writing and, like the playing surface, grade a comfortable Near Mint (NM).
The plain white poly lined inner sleeve doesn't really seem worth grading, although it is in near mint condition also.
I have included 6 large pictures of the actual record for sale so that you can see what I am talking about - it really is a fantastic copy of a very rare and very important recording. I tried to capture the 'Nimbus' logo in the run out grooves but apologies if this isn't clear.
