MILES DAVIS - RELAXIN'
Original 1958 US press jazz rarity - a very good listen with some clicks and occasional light background crackle, and original excellent condition thick cardboard outer sleeve
Very good (VG) condition vinyl - flat with a nice jet black sheen but there are a number of hairlines (each 1cm or less) and scuff marks on each side of the vinyl, two of which (one on each side) are just feelable. These hairlines and scuff marks are NOT superficial - although there are no sticks or jumps there are a number of mild clicks on each side along with light background crackle throughout most of the record. Still a good listen but not perfect or excellent. Excellent plus (EX+) condition labels : very close inspection under a bright light reveals just a couple of small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, but no other blemish at all. Note the US early press "deep groove" on each label. Excellent (EX) condition front-side-only laminated thick cardboard outer sleeve with firm unscuffed edges, including a rigid spine with all spine text remaining impressively intact. All colours, gorgeous art work and text remain in beautiful, vibrant and crystal clear definition. There is no cardboard creasing, the opening edges are firm with no fraying, each corner is a near perfect right angle with barely any rubbing at all, and there is no unwanted writing. The only "blemishes" (too strong a word) are just a few very small and very light trivial handling/storage marks on the reverse side - take a good look at my photos where I have tried to show a detailed and honest appraisal of the condition of this iconic sleeve - hard to believe that this copy is 58 years of age...it really is gorgeous! Very good minus (VG-) mono audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion, but there are a number of mild clicks on each side along with almost constant light (sometimes mild) background crackle throughout - more so at some times than at others and it is possible that a professional clean would improve the overall sound quality. But if it is sound excellence that you are after then you should not bid. Nevertheless, despite these audio imperfections the LP as a whole is a good and enjoyable listen with these jazz legends in top form : MILES DAVIS (trumpet), JOHN COLTRANE (tenor sax), RED GARLAND (piano), PAUL CHAMBERS (bass), and PHILLY JOE JONES (drums). Comes with brand new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve. Not the greatest condition vinyl in the world but still a good listen, still highly presentable and, of course, still rare and highly collectable.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
