What we have here is Jazz
equivalent of the Grand Canyon. The album which, for the next four decades,
pretty much defined everything that's spontaneous, improvisational , modal and
otherwise genuine in music. This music truly has no equivalents, peers or
points of reference in modern music, whether before or after its conception.
Word has it that Duane Allman played nothing by "Kind of Blue" for
many days and months on end, and the list of Jazz musicians profoundly affected
by its spontaneity, mood, gentle blue tinge and supreme musical competence (to
put it mildly) goes on and on and on. Plus, how many times do you get to hear
the interplay between Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans and Cannonball
Adderley - all assembled in one place?.
This is not music, this is pure aural ambrosia. The Jazz’ greatest album was
beset from its inception by the mastering problems, and experts claim that it
is off by a fraction of the note, due to the fact that it was mastered at the
wrong speed (a moot point). This is the mega-rare original deep groove stereo
pressing!!! Finding a still sealed original copy?!?!
Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.
In the entire history of eBay, still sealed original STEREO pressing of this album – we were told, and
our own research bears this out – has never been offered before; not even once,
in the entire 10-year history of the company. If this assertion is correct,
this would mean that a still sealed ORIGINAL STEREO copy of this album is
offered on collectors’ market about once every ten years or so – less
often, mind you, than an undiscovered Brancusi sculpture or Da Vinci drawing.
Unless you are willing to wait another 10 years to see another copy, our
message is very simple: BID NOW. DON’T WAIT. THIS MAY
BE THE LAST COPY YOU WILL EVER SEE.

THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED IN ITS ORIGINAL
PLASTIC BAGGY (TYPICALLY USED IN THE MID-60s) AND IS BELIEVED TO BE
PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold
as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them.
The record is STILL in its original inner, perforated plastic baggy
The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which
was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on
such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not
expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!
The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about
1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with
very early or first pressings).
Stereo pressing of this title
is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its mono counterpart. The mix is more graphic, the sound resolution more
precise, and the channel separation (which does not exist on mono version) adds
a whole new dimension to the music. Also, the stereo mixes are (by
definition) somewhat different than on the mono version. We estimate that mono
copies of this album outnumber stereo copies
by a ratio of at least 5:1.
Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior,
