Description

MILES DAVIS
BLUE MOODS

1955 ~ Debut Records ~ Deb-120 ~ Mono
Original First Issue ~ Maroon Labels

VINYL: EX: A few light surface marks. Extremely black & glossy. Near perfect labels suggest this LP was seldom played.

COVER : EX: Spine and both seams intact. Minor shelf wear, mostly on back. Opening edge is sharp. Minor discoloration on back. Made from very thick, off-white cardboard.

INNER SLEEVE: Audiophile

LABELS : A few very faint spindle marks, otherwise sharp. Original seldom-seen maroon Debut.

BEAR SAYS: Actual first issue of Miles first and only LP on the tiny Debut label. Four long songs featuring Charles Mingus, Teddy Charles & Elvin Jones. This is indeed a very scarce item. Don't snooze!

Please e-mail for the complete song list.

A SIMPLE VINYL GRADING SYSTEM :

Mint: Still Sealed/Unplayed/Unopened
Mint minus (M-): New and Possibly Unplayed ; a rarely used grade.
Near Mint (NM): Like-new, with little or no visible wear; very collectible.
Near Mint minus (NM-): almost like-new, perhaps very slight signs of age, play or wear that are strictly cosmetic.
Excellent (EX) Very Good double-plus (VG++): Way above average, very nice, no serious flaws; played, not abused.
Very Good plus (VG+): An above average used LP; a few visible surface marks or paper scuffs; slight surface noise.
Very Good (VG) : An average used LP, far from perfect; a few light scratches. Some noise; plays through, no skips.
Very Good minus (VG-) : Reveals lots of wear when viewed or spun but is not actually defective or warped.

LP Cover grading is a much less exact, more subjective science. Generally, the truly collectible grades range from Mint to Excellent (VG++) depending on general wear. Main cover flaws such as split seams or spine splits, ring wear, cut or bent corners, hole punches, writing, water damage etc. should always be mentioned in a proper auction listing. These factors or lack thereof will combine to determine the grade. Please email if you desire more details about any cover/record/insert or poster listed by Bearswax 2.
