Comments :

"Aces Anonymous", Mike Nevard's Melody Maker All Stars. Strangely coy about its line-up, whilst claiming to be "The best British Jazz ever recorded", this 1954 five track 10in features Don Rendell and Tony Kinsey amongst others. Even the Atlantic label is a decoy, with a disclaimer in the small print about its' lack of any links to any other label of that name! Apparently exclusive to members of the R.O.M. Club, I believe there is a Blue Note 10in that covers the same session, though with different track listing.

The cover does have some general soiling and some old tape along the vertical spine. More importantly, the vinyl is very clean (as is the label). Lastly, and most importantly - it's a great session!
