Description
Up for auction at NO reserve is "Saturn Rings" by Michele (O'Malley) on the ABC label, catalog #ABCS-684. The record looks unplayed NM. The cover is NM- with just the beginnings of ring wear and a tiny punch hole at upper left. I've never seen one that wasn't a cut-out. Note that some of what appears to be ring wear in the photo is just stars in the COSMIC sky. Michele was one of the background singers on the Sagitarius LP. With Curt Boettcher's songwriting skills and the lovely production on this LP make this one of the great femme psyche LPs of all time. Lowell George, later of Little Feat, helps out on flute and harmonica. And Dean Torrence, formerly of Jan and Dean, contributes the album art. Sprinkle in some Eastern influences and fuzz guitar and dust with '69 production and you have one great record. If it doesn't meet my opening bid, I have just started collecting records again...it's that good.
