Michael Jackson started out with his brothers The Jackson 5 (who eventually became The Jacksons), in 1964, SIXTY years ago. After leaving the family band, he began a successful solo career. Michael released the best selling album of all time in 1982, titled 'Thriller'. That's not an opinion, it's a simple fact. That international smash hit has sold over SEVENTY MILLION copies worldwide!
During his reign as the king of pop, he released numerous 12" maxi-singles with many remixes. Today we feature two of them, that have been long out of print, and include several remixes between the two!
First up is from 1991. The song is titled "Black or White", and is from his '91 album 'Dangerous'. 'Dangerous' sold 32 million copies, and the previous studio album 'Bad' sold 45 million copies. Neither sold as many copies as 'Thriller', but still phenomenal numbers! "Black or White" is the first single released from 'Dangerous', and has a wild and controversial video (but still really innovative and groundbreaking).
"Black or White" is here, on a 12" remix maxi-single, with remixes by Robert Clivillés and David Cole (C&C of C&C's Music Factory). FIVE versions of this great song are on this record! The vinyl itself looks new, and is shiny and clean. Sleeve has only a tiny bit of wear on it, mostly on the corners; otherwise looking awesome.
The second 12" in this Michael Jackson double shot is a track called "Blood on the Dance Floor". From the remix album of the same name. This song was supposed to be on 'Dangerous', but didn't make it to the final product. It tells the story of Susie, who plots to stab Michael with a knife while they're dancing (now the song title makes sense)! That track is here, in a really cool sleeve with red raised letters. A total of four versions, two on each side. This too also looks new, and is still shiny and clean. The sleeve looks great, but with two stickers on the back cover. Careful, Susie's got a shiv!
