Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's The Beatles: the collection 14 LP box set.

I am the original owner of this set, having purchased it new in the early 1980's.   Each set was individually numbered and this is set 21,926 from the first run of 25,000.  All disks have been played at least once. None have been played more than three times. All plays were on my high-end stereo system and Denon turntable.

This is as close to new as one is likely to find.

Description:

The holy grail of audiophile rock, Mobile Fidelity's 'Beatles - The Collection' box set needs no introduction and is extremely rare and hard to find. This impressive set was released worldwide in September 1982. The set of half-speed mastered records was presented in a handsome black box with gold foil printing. Each set is sequentially numbered and includes a beautiful 38-page booklet containing the artwork for each album with the official booklet incorporating a numbered certificate of authenticity.   Each of the virgin vinyl discs are protected in a special dust free protective inner sleeve and a gatefold card MFSL Custom Picture outer sleeve displaying the master tape of the A and B sides for each particular recording, plus dates on which the recordings took place.  The collection includes:

Condition:

The condition of the set is near-mint condition. The box is near mint condition. The hardware is brass and the finish shows some tarnish due to it age. You can see from the photos that the set has been stored on my bookcase for the last 30 years.

Vinyl – All discs are in near-mint condition. I have visually inspected each disc and there are no visible scratches or surface imperfections. All discs are perfectly flat. These discs were literally played only a few time to record them when I first purchased them, and have been in storage ever since.

Jackets – All jackets are in near-mint condition.  I have replaced the original rice paper sleeves with higher quality V.R.P non-scratching anti-static protective sleeves to insure the vinyl remains in pristine condition.

Special Collection Storage Box – The case is in excellent condition. There are very minor scuffmarks on the bottom and the felt is slightly worn.  There are no scuffmarks on the corners.  The brass hinges and latch are showing signs of age but they are in perfect shape and have not been cleaned.

Geo-Disc – The disc itself is near-mint, but the jacket is in very good condition with some minor scuffmarks on the top side.

Art Booklet – The booklet is in near-mint condition.   All pages are bright, clear, and the edges are pristine.

This box set is being sold as is. I have made every effort to describe the item honestly and accurately, but I can make no guarantees beyond the above description. We accept PAYPAL only with a confirmed shipping address.  Please check your status with PayPal and confirm your address before bidding.  Note: being confirmed and being Verified are two different things.  

Shipping and Insurance

We do not offer local pick-up.  The item will be well packaged and insured to the value of your bid.   We prefer to ship via USPS.  If you would prefer another carrier, please inquire before bidding and we will make all efforts to accommodate your request. 

Items are shipped Monday through Saturday with delivery confirmation. We will provide you with a tracking number of the shipment once it has been delivered to the shipper.  Due to the value of this item, we will require a require signature confirmation on delivery of the package.

We DO NOT ship to P.O. Boxes without a physical address, APO, FPO or other military addresses. NO EXCEPTIONS, so please do not ask.

International Bidders:

Sales Tax:

We do not charge sales tax at this time, purchaser is responsible for any sales tax due for their State of residency.

Returns

Due to the unique nature of this collection, all sales are final on this item.

If the collection is damaged in shipping, we will work with you to obtain an insurance settlement from the carrier. We will take detailed photos of the item being packaged should an insurance claim be necessary.
