THE MFSL ROLLING STONES 11LP BOX SET: 1984 MFSL Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Japan 1/2 Speed Mastered.

     Limited Edition(#5808) 11 X LP with Lenticular print cover booklet and the Geo Disc cartirdge allignment tool.

Amazing wooden box with 11 LP's pressed in Japan.  The LP's are Half-Speed Mastered with the Ortofon Cutting System from the Original Stereo Master Tapes. Each MFSL LP has a special static free, dust free inner sleeve and heavy-duty protective, wooden-box packaging.  One small step below a NM- copy, most of the discs are NM-, a few are VG++ with less than a handful of hairline scuff only.  No noise from post-production damage guaranteed. VINYL is all VG+ to NM- adult Goldmine graded. Each is NM- unless listed below at VG++:

• "Hot Rocks" & "Beggars Banquet" is VG++ (glossy with some faint hairlines scuffs only).
• "Let It Bleed" is VG++ with less than 5 hairline scuffs.
• "Their Satanic Majesties" is VG++ with about 3 hairline scuffs.
• None of the LP's have any actual scratches that you can feel and hear.

     SLEEVES are all VG with rubbing on the corners. "Let It Bleed" and "Hot Rocks" both have micro splits on the spine.  Not even 1" long, and barely thru the cover. The wooden box is VG. I see one pinhole tear and light stain on bottom (see all in photos). Other than that, just a few lines here and there.

     Each has a poly-lined inner sleeve. Only one LP is missing the MFSL cardboard inner protector. The booklet has the 3-D/Lenticular cover and light rubbing on the edges.  Standard light bending on booklets face due to 3D paste-on graphic unit. The Geo Disc cover has one edge that came unglued, not torn.  Feel free to message me with futher questions :) Thanks for looking!

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL or MoFi) is a company that produces reissues of albums. All releases are made from the first-generation master recordings and mastered at half-speed, which MFSL claims allows for an improved sound quality. In the past, MFSL has produced cassette tape, LP, CD and VHS releases of a few titles. In addition, each title is licensed to be mastered, manufactured, and sold within a specific time frame with limited quantities produced.

Although Mobile Fidelity existed prior to 1978, MFSL's popularity began at that time with the Original Master Recording LP. The first titles in the series were classical releases by the Mystic Moods Orchestra. The label hit mainstream appeal with their release of Supertramp's Crime of the Century. Other popular titles followed, such as Steely Dan's Katy Lied, Georg Benson's Breezin', Fleetwood Mac's second eponymous album, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.

MFSL's releases became highly publicized in 1981 when they released a box set of Beatles recordings. This comprised all thirteen original British versions of their albums, mastered from the original Abbey Road Studio master tapes with the exception of Magical Mystery Tour which was sourced from the original US Capitol tapes. The releases used high-density "virgin" vinyl and half-speed mastering. An album-sized booklet displaying the original album covers was also included. The box set was followed up with box sets of Frank Sinatra and The Rolling Stones.
