Description
This is an out of print collection of 14 Beatles albums manufactured in Japan using a half speed mastering process to Ultra Virgin Vinyl by the Japan Victor Company in the late 1970's. This product is an excellent example of the movement to produce premium,esoteric versions of popular albums of the era('70s),in addition to producing some pretty spectacular original recordings.
Here's the story on this particular set;
I recently completed an out-of-state move after residing in the same city for 27 years. Anyone who has done something like that will inevitably come across some "archeological finds" in the stuff that gets disturbed after being in a certain closet or room untouched for so many years. That's the deal on this particular box set. I was the Mobile Fidelity Manufacturers Rep for the Southeastern United States (among other labels and audio equipment) in the late '70's, and yes it was a fun job. I moved into another branch of the audio biz a couple of years later, put away and mostly forgot about a lot of my rep stuff. I came across this set in it's original shipping box when I moved. It had not been opened or touched until I found it going through the last of the boxes for my office a few days ago. You will find a few fingerprints on the book where I pulled it out, and I examined (not played) album 101 to check the general condition of the LP's. None of the other 13 have been out of their sleeves.
