Description
"Alison Krauss & Union Station Live" is a Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs three disc box set. Released in 2002, this is the vinyl version. This record is the reason we play vinyl! It is one of the best recordings I have ever heard on vinyl and clearly points out why vinyl sounds better than CD's. It was recorded live at a hall in Kentucky and except for the crowd noise at the beginning and end of the tracks, you are hard pressed to tell this is a live recording. The band is tight and the mix is spot on with no single player overpowering or getting lost in the group. You can almost feel yourself in the audience. The harmonies are spot on and Alison has the voice of an angel. There's a reason she has won 26 Grammys and why this recording won a Grammy. Mobile Fidelity cuts their masters at half speed using only the original studio masters. This is a Gain 2 recording on 180 gram vinyl. The special limited edition number is 00142.
The vinyl is NM, and the cover and box is VG++ to NM. The record was released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs on the Rounder label, record number MFSL-3-281.
