This is a rare MFSL vinyl LP Test Pressing of jazz artists Jack Teagarden / Bobby Hackett titled Ultimate Jazz, original matrix number is MFSL 1-114. This was never released by MFSL and its matrix number was re-issued to another album. The surface is visually absolutely perfect. There are no spindle marks, etc.! This is flawless in all regards!

I got this from a very serious collector 4 years ago. He stated it was never removed from its inner sleeve. I never played this & only removed it from it’s rice paper sleeve, with white cotton gloves on, to clean on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine, inspect & get the pressing numbers.
This comes in a plain white album cover with just the words “Teagarden-Hackett A/B” handwritten along top of cover (..see photo). This is in a rice paper sleeve. Pressing number’s on the vinyl are MFSL- 1-114 A2/6 & B2/6. Also marked as J.H./2, (meaning it was mastered by Jack Hunt). Album has NO writing on either side A or B center labels. I would imagine this to be pressed on to what seems like 180-gram or less vinyl from MFSL (is lighter than the 200 series just by feel).

There are only 5 of these rare items in the world, as mofi never released this selection to the public. Test pressings are the rarest of the rare as far as their availability goes!
Record has been stored upright in a protective mylar sleeve. This Lp was remastered with the Original master tapes of the recording session. It's pressed on to a special virgin high definition vinyl. The surface is virtually perfect so noise is not a factor. You would have to hear this to realize what an excellent product MFSL made.
I can’t tell you much about the content on this. But what I do know regarding Jack Teagarden & Bobby Hackett, is that they did many recordings together. Their style was a jazz- big band sound. This is likely from the 1950’s when they did most of the collaborations.
What title this is, according to a reference on John Harp's Gold Realm Web page, is the release "Jazz Ultimate" originally on the Capitol Records Label (T-933) that came out in 1958.
