METALLICA
Mega Rare original tour and concert documentation from the Scandinavian part of the European Tour 1992.
For every tour / concert the artists make, various venues have to be booked. The promoters are contacted well in advance of the event and terms of the performance have to be agreed. We have saved a lot of documents from this procedure which we are now selling. The documents, in most cases, exist of only one copy so they are very rare indeed and it is highly unlikely that anybody else will be in possession of the same original papers.
Please see below for the documents saved from this tour / concert(s). The communication producing this rare collection of documents was before internet so most contacts were made via telex or fax. This will reflect on the quality of some of the documents. Some documents were transferred from fax and telex to better quality paper and others may be copies (more than one person needed a copy), they are however all genuine and made at the time of the tour, concert.
UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, ALL TEXT IS IN ENGLISH.
1. Itinerary for Scandinavia, 3 pages.
Information of tour dates, where they performed, in which hotel they stayed, flight arrival and departure, doors opening time and on stage.x
2. Contract, 7 pages.
Contract with additional clauses and budget lists for 6 shows in Scandinavia.
3. Tour Rider, 12 pages.A RIDER is the part where the artist(s) lay out the requirements (demands) for their visit to different venues. This is sent to the promoter well in advance of the tour and will have to be agreed upon by both parties before a contract is signed and a concert is booked. The Rider will list what the artist(s) want and need to be able to do a good performance. The payment, dressing rooms, security, travel and parking, stage requirements, power, rigging, etc. etc. A RIDER will also often list what the artist(s) would like to have to drink and eat in their dressing rooms or backstage after the show. However, not in this rider.
4. Rigging, Stage and Pyro, 15 pages.
Drawings and technical details for rigging, stage and pyro effects, including certificates.
5. Other documents, 15 pages.
Some correspondence relating to the shows, promoters comments to the rider, list of swag sizes for the band and crew, etc.
NOTE: Before internet all documents were sent by telex or fax so the quality of the print is very varied on these papers. Some are perfect while others are not so good. Some may also have notes written on them. They are all however fully readable, unless otherwise stated.Any details not conforming to the Data Protection Act have been removed or made un-readable. Nothing on these documents.
