BEHIND THE SCENES
Creeping Death was the first “official†non-Sam Goody MetallicA vinyl that I ever bought. It was early 1986 and I picked this up at Sound Exchange in Wayne, NJ. All I knew was that “Master of Puppets†had just been released (which I got), but this record contained two MetallicA tunes which I had not ever heard before and Sound Exchange was the place to go for such things, so, I got directions to the store. What I bought that day was the 1st pressing French Music For Nations (MFN) on black vinyl. I loved it. One day, much later, I scored the red vinyl and then the blue “Creeping Death.†What I am offering to you today is the 1st pressing MFN on the dark red colored vinyl (referenced here on Hector’s site, metallipromo.com) . I never played this EP, but bought it simply for the coolness of the red vinyl. Anyway, this is new and un-played and sold to you “as is.â€
Please read the description and story of this particular piece below.
DESCRIPTION
***All albums are first pressing on BLACK vinyl unless otherwise stated***
This record is as MINT as it's gonna get! I bought this new and never played it. The colors are bright and vibrant. There are no dings, though there is one ever-so-slightly creased corner (top front right). The spine has four slight creases (normal). The top of the jacket, right in the middle, is slightly worn. The vinyl itself is MINT, never played by me and stored away from light and sound. The label states “Made in France†and “12 KUT 112.†The album jacket has no bar code and reads “12 KUT 112.†The inner sleeve is in perfect shape – white paper with no creases.
***PLEASE CONSIDER THIS***
I could make a swap for you and replace the slightly worn French cover with a minty “Made in England†one. I have an English “Creeping Death†jacket that is in the most pristine shape without the English barcode, but with the “Made In England†remark at the bottom back cover. It was fairly common that some French pressings were released with the “Made in England†jackets (why, I do not know). The winner of this auction MUST let me know if they want to substitute the original French cover with this more pristine looking “Made in England†one (which wouldn’t be inaccurate). If the winning bidder would prefer a more beautiful looking jacket to the absolute accurate, somewhat very slightly creased and worn jacket, I will be more-than-happy to oblige.
This type of record was never “factory sealed,†so “new†and “mint†mean that it is in the same shape that it was bought, usually never played.
This vinyl will come to you in a BRAND NEW protective 3ml poly RE-SEALABLE cover.
STORY
I had just turned 15 when I first heard MetallicA in the early fall of 1984. A friend had let me borrow “Ride the Lightening†on tape (Electra) and I immediately listened to it in my Walkman as I walked home thru the woods. For “Whom the Bell Tolls†was cued and I became an instant fan. I collected MetallicA vinyl from 1985 thru to 1991. The majority of my collection is from Sound Exchange in Wayne, NJ. I bought “Acting Like a Maniac†there in the spring of ‘86. That was my first MetallicA live show (bootleg). I also continued to shop in NJ in Hoboken at Pier Platters, The Record Room in New Rochelle and Discount Records in Lodi. I would frequently go into Manhattan (N.Y.C) to hit such record shops as It’s Only Rock N’ Roll, Revolver, Bleeker Bob’s, Second Coming, et al., to look for interesting MetallicA vinyl. Additionally, I visited various Record Conventions and shows in Northern NJ, from which I picked up some very fine stuff! I am an old-school MetallicA fan who, well, cannot even very easily listen to the “Black†album and certainly not to anything else after that (I don’t even own the thing (the “Black†album). 1991 is when my MetallicA heart broke and I’ve never gotten over it. Anyway . . .
This vinyl is the sterling article. I am the original purchaser, owner and collector of this and every single piece of my collection that I put up here on eBay. None of these records are second-hand and nothing was bought off of eBay. I am the one who shopped for, bought, played, listened to, put-on-tape, put-in-poly-sleeves, stored and kept-for-years this particular record . . . until now. These beauties are now needing a new home and collector to enjoy them. I am keeping a few gems for myself (for when I have a turntable again), but everything else is up for grabs.
Please bid with all confidence – I have 100% Positive Feedback and I intend on keeping it that way!!! I will not let you down!
Please e-mail me with any questions and/or comments, I’m glad to hear from you! Check out my other eBay auctions too!!! I will gladly combine shipping on multiple wins.
