1968/USA/Shamley Records SS-701….. here’s a clean original pressing of this rare pop psych lp. The cover is in clean condition with light shelf/ring wear, corner dings/wear/crease, the seams have light spotty wear, there is a Sample Copy sticker on the back cover, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in glossy Excellent to M-condition with a handful of super light inaudible hairline sleeve scuffs and minor light inaudible storage stains/blemishes. The record plays clean with minor light noise/crackle at cue and between tracks and otherwise plays like new with nice clean fidelity! The labels are clean with no spindle marks. After cutting some fine folk-rock and psychedelia on ultra-rare records with his group The Exiles, guitarist, singer, and songwriter Merrell Fankhauser moved to Los Angeles, retitled his backing group H.M.S. Bounty, and recorded a fine slice of pop-psychedelia in 1968, "Things".The diverse offerings on the group's sole LP recalled such fellow Californian heavyweights as The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Moby Grape, and even Captain Beefheart.
One of the all- time 60’s classics, coming out from California central coast where H.M.S. leader Merrell Fankhauser stayed in 1967- 68. This was released on Universals Shamley label in late 1968, and it’s a killer!!!! Flower power psychedelia, great all original songs, this is one of these albums you shouldn’t miss under any circumstance.

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
