Description

For sale is MEREDITH MONK's "Key," on Increase INCS 2008, 1971.
SOUND: MINT It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The playback is perfect, period. Solid, clear sound with "zero" noise.
VINYL: MINT I rarely rate vinyl mint, but there is simply no flaw on this vinyl, it looks brand-new. Although the record was unsealed, it may never have been removed from the jacket. The labels too, are clean and perfect. Not a trace of a spindle mark. I will point out a little rough-ness in the spindle hole, my belief is this is from the manufacturing process.
JACKET: NM/MINT The jacket is in the original shrink. Edges and spine, corners all appear near-perfect. Front and back as well. The only flaw I can find is a teenie-tiny paper tear on the back, along the open edge (see pic.)
The sale also includes the original "gatefold-like" insert, in pristine condition (see pic.)
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
If you want to hear this "experimental" or "avant-garde" record the way it sounded hot off the press in 1971, this is your chance. You will never see (or hear) a better copy.
Buy-it-now for $60.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
