"Another French obscurity from the 70's by a band relatively unknown to the public today. MEMORIANCE existed and recorded between mid-70's and early-80's, having two full-length albums and two singles released.This French sextet came from Le Havre and issued their debut "ET APRES" in 1976.

Memoriance managed to create their own sound niche, Melodic and powerful, reminding of Atoll and Mona Lisa mostly but also of Shylock and Arachnoid to some extent. Their 1976 debut `Et Après' is an exceptional symphonic work, one that reminds of everything from the luscious tones of Camel (by unique way of Jean-Pierre Boulais and Didier Guillaumat's twin lead guitars), and the spacey sound of early Pink Floyd but with occasional little quirky and demented bursts added in to keep you on your toes! They also were skilled enough and bold enough to try getting into more experimental realms without sounding too pretentious, nor too far out.

...another of those lost symphonic French gems that are desperately in need of rediscovery and new-found appreciation!"

"A very enjoyable symphonic record from France that was released in 1976, with spacey synths and guitar work that is quite tasteful. Very strong bass, muscular and driven. Their sound definitely belongs to the French Symphonic Rock school with plenty of standout guitars and atmospheric keys ...and it contains even some psychedelic feel close to the sounds of CARPE DIEM and PULSAR. The title track "Et apres" has a very dark approach, led by complex breaks, dramatic guitars but again spacey synths and deep bass lines. While the vocals on this track are more theatrical in the vein of ANGE and MONA LISA. Overall Memoriance is less theatrical than those 2 bands, though the feel definitely is there, but less intensely. After three extended tracks, the shorter closer ''Tracsir'' offers the strongest guitar lines of the album, being in a Symphonic and Jazz-Fusion mood at the same time with some help from keys, but also great bass work again by Michel Aze.

This might just be one of the finest French prog obscurities, there is an undeniable urgency and mania that really is quite shocking, very attractively so! A thoroughly first rate opus that deserves its place in any collection."

who was a DJ at the Radio Station I co-founded in the 1970's - and who worked for me at my California record store in the '70s and '80s.
Sadly he has now finally left this mortal coil, bequeathing me his deep Vinyl Mine.

I do NOT EVER want to exclude all bidders from any particular country, even though a few specific countries are responsible for almost all spurious "not received" or "not as described" claims over the years. This evolves... for instance in France, buyers from Ile de France area seem, more and more, to be very prone to make a false claim. (one of my earliest, very best customers was from Ile de France but moved to Belgium some years back) ...so even there, I hate to exclude ALL buyers from there; however I cannot possibly afford to be scammed due to the unlucky result of a winning bidder being a bad actor. Also it seems to be the fun game recently for some in Germany, Spain and Italy to buy far more than the collector can afford and make false claims on many of them. Again I will need to know you can be trusted. Many, many great buyers in all those countries, but plenty of trouble comes from them as well. Brazil has terrible post/mail problems. Italy has long Customs hold times. In NONE of those cases is it my fault and I will not lose out because of other countries' problems beyond my control. Having said that, I will not ever cancel any bidders with solid, good reputations and feedback.
