Description
Amphetamine Reptile Records will be releasing the vinyl version of Melvins' "The Bride Screamed Murder". The Melvins & AmRep have cooked up some kookiness with a planned release sometime around January.
In the meantime, we have a special TEST PRESSING release. It features a special sleeve (pictured here) made for the Test Pressings ONLY!
There were just 5 test pressings made & # 5/5 headed straight into the AmRep archives. The final four will be auctioned off to help fund the splatter vinyl and special Letterpress printing used on the regular edition!
These are the actual photos of the test pressing up for auction & the one currently being offered is number 4/5. Each is hand-created by Haze-XXL using a variety of methods. The front cover is a combination of linoleum block printing on vellum with spray paint stenciling & the back is lino cut on paper with a sticker showing the list of album tracks.
The sleeve is signed & numbered in silver Sharpie & the circle label on the record has the album title, AmRep catalog # (078) & the matching edition # to the sleeve & the words “TEST PRESS” also in silver Sharpie on the A-side. The B-side label is spray painted solid green that matches the creature on the front of the sleeve.
Everything about the look these test pressings are COMPLETELY different from what the actual regular edition will be. The sleeves were entirely created by hand & as such have the individual nuances that occur from piece to piece in the creation process.
This is the LAST ONE of the Bride Screamed Murder Test Pressings that will be offered for sale. The first 3 sold to buyers in the United States, U.K. & Japan & it'll be interesting to see what corner of the globe this one will end up.
