This vintage vinyl LP is pre-owned in very clean condition. This copy is signed by three members of the band's original lineup: Dave Dictor, Al Schultz and Franc'o Mares in gold paint marker. The record was handled before the marker fully dried so there is some splatter of the gold ink across the front of the record where it was signed. This record includes the original lyric sheet and one-of-a-kind post card sent to Henry "Wild Dog" by M.D.C.'s Dave Dictor postmarked July 1981 shortly after the group moved from Austin to San Francisco. Other than the splattered paint from signing the sleeve is otherwise near mint with no fading or edge wear, no creases or folds. The album is clear with no scratches or scuffs and plays great. Rare Signed Hardcore Punk Vinyl
This vintage vinyl LP is pre-owned in very clean condition. This copy is signed by three members of the band's original lineup: Dave Dictor, Al Schultz and Franc'o Mares in gold paint marker. The record was handled before the marker fully dried so there is some splatter of the gold ink across the front of the record where it was signed. This very special copy also includes a post card sent by Dave Dictor to Henry "Wild Dog" in Houston shortly after the band left Austin for San Francisco. The post card features Alcatraz and the Bay Area skyline on the front with a note from Dictor on back noting the band was doing shows with the Dicks and had played with Dead Kennedys, Flipper, Middle Class, War Zone and Black Flag in Los Angeles. Dictor notes "starvings OK if you get a little recognition." Postmarked sometime in July 1981, the band had left Austin where it had originally formed as The Stains in 1979. Note the post script on the right of the card Dictor mentions the "new name for our group Millions of Dead Cops!" This amazing artifact is a solid piece of Hardcore Punk history and pairs nicely with the near mint record. The record is a 3rd pressing with black border and white band name. This vintage hardcore record and post card is from the personal collection of Henry “Wild Dog” Weissborn (1955-2008). Beginning in the mid-1970s, Weissborn began his college days as a countercultural documentarian, punk archivist while studying sociology at the University of Houston. As a founding member of the Youth International Party’s UH Direct Action Committee, Weissborn organized a series of “Be-Ins” in eary 1978 that now represent some of the earliest punk shows in the city featuring local bands such as Legionnaire’s Disease, Really Red, AK-47, Vast Majority and others. He founded ULTRA as the official news magazine of the Direct Action Committee in 1978 and after four issues he relaunched his efforts as Wild Dog zine in April 1979, which has the distinction of being Houston’s first punk fanzine covering the emerging scene through the early 1980s. Also in 1979, Weissborn joined the highly politicized Houston punk band, Vast Majority and produced the band’s only EP “I Wanna Be A Number” on Wild Dog Records in 1980.
