In 1978 Spanish label Movieplay released Max B's second album Sex Revolution, a sultry six-track journey through African-charged, percussive disco, funk and soul. The A-side's title production and "Super Bwana" are hi NRG sessions of superfly attitudes and discotheque madness. For disco diggers looking for something more esoteric, Sex Revolution's B-side provides a chanting rhythm track in "Jungle", mystic tribalisms in "Bembe", stripped back, sleaze rock funk in "Possession" and something to undress to in "Susy Blues". What a record, and still sounding fresh after all these years.
