* * * ORIGINAL 1974 PRESSING ON STRATA!!! A classic Chicago AVANT JAZZ LP that incorporates some deep and soulful influences with a touch of funk. The players are as follows: Sun King and Adam Rudolph (percussion), Rufus Reed (sic) (bass), Andy Potter (drums), Jim Cailen (piano), Michael Fuller (drums), Edwin Williams (trombone), Joyce Major and Diane Cunningham (vocals); Matt Corbin (cover illustration), Bud Spangler (producing and editing). Essential for fans of Strata or Strata-East, Tribe and Black Jazz styles independent jazz, soul and funk. Includes the great funk of "Street Rap" and the modal dance version of John Coltrane's "Naima". PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED ON A VPI MACHINE * * * VINYL: VG++ (VERY CLEAN!!! CLOSE TO NM!!! A few light stray paper scuffs - play is unaffected. Overall looks and sounds great!!!)
