MASTER’S APPRENTICES – A TOAST TO PANAMA RED UK 1971
1971 stereo UK 1st release on Regal Zonophone label, catalogue number SLRZ 1022, of the notable Australian hard rock group, Master’s Apprentices, with ‘A Toast To Panama Red’ recorded at Abbey Road Studios. The group are Doug Ford (lead guitar, acoustic guitars, vocals, music), James Keays (vocals, effects. lyrics), Colin Burgess (drums, percussion, vocals), Glen Wheatley (bass, vocals). Tracks: (side I) Answer Lies Beyond, Beneath the Sun, Games We Play I, Games We Play II; (side II) The Lesson So Listen, Love Is, Melodies of St Kilda, Southern Cross, Thyme to Rhyme. The disc label has EMI boxed logo.
The disc is in fantastic condition. There are a few very light hairline marks but these are completely inaudible. We have played both sides right through and it is unlikely you’ll find a better sounding copy (unless you have a guaranteed mint one). The original textured single sheet lyric insert is intact. There is a vertical crease about 3cm from left-hand side plus a very small stain. The original front laminated G&L flip-backed sleeve is overall very good. There is light edge/corner wear and creasing and the bottom right corner is scuffed and dented.
