Marvin even co-wrote the single...
label copy shows the correct spelling
of his last name as
"MARVIN GAY".
He would add the "E" two years later when
HARVEY FUQUA,
his long-time mentor, brought him to
MOTOWN RECORDS.
Harvey was there throughout Marvin's career,
even for Marvin's final comeback with
"SEXUAL HEALING"
in 1982.
