Artist: MARIANI Title: Perpetuum Mobile Label: Akarma Catalog # AK 140 Year:2001 Pressing: Italy Type Of Issue: REISSUE Condition: COVER= MINT MINUS -STILL SEALED!!! (Very slight edge wear, All 4 corners have slight wear, Small piece of shrinkwrap is missing, No other defects to report!!) RECORD= STILL SEALED!!! For those of you who are not familiar with this piece, I'll try to fill you in as best I can. What we have is what I consider to be an essential artifact in the annals of Psychedelic and Hard Rock music!! This album is a Reissue of a Very Rare Lp by this Texas band who originally recorded this Lp in 1970 as a Promo-Only Demo of only 100 copies on a small Local label called Sonobeat Records and they submitted it for consideration to United Artists Records but unfortunately they broke up before negotiations were completed!! This band featured a teenage guitarist, 16-year old Eric Johnson who is very well-known in guitar circles these days!! It was as hard as Eric ever got!!! The music is best described as Heavy Hard Rock/Psych with amazing leads and powerful rhythms!! Theres even a Heavy Psych Blues Hard Rock tune called " Lord, I Just Can't Help Myself". These guys were a Power Trio (Some of the best bands are Three-Piece outfits!!). There is a total of 10 songs on this record and the last two are Bonus tracks which are cuts from their 2nd 7-Inch single also released on Sonobeat Records (not sure how many of these were pressed) but it was also recorded in 1970. Their 1st single was issued on Sonobeat as well but was under the name Vince Mariani and was from 1969!!. There is an earlier Reissue of this LP on Hablabel (HBL 11004) in 1988. I'm not sure which country that was released from. This is a Legit Reissue on the well-known Akarma label out of Italy who use High Quality Heavy 180 Gram Vinyl, Thick Cardboard Covers (many of them Gatefold Covers) and are Shrinkwrapped at the Label!! This contains extensive liner notes on the inside of the Gatefold Cover (See Photo). It is also a Limited Edition of only 1000 copies (Not Numbered). This record is Long Out-Of -Print and is difficult to find these days!!! An Original of this album will cost you big bucks (if you can even find one!!!). All the songs on here are winners!!! You won't be disappointed!!!
