Description

Even harder to obtain than Marc's mid 60s solo 45s or his records with John's Children [with one obvious exception of course], a demo copy of 'One Inch Rock'/'Salamanda Palaganda' on Regal Zonophone from August 1968 with the all important picture sleeve. These were sent to reviewers,DJs etc and not on sale to the general public and in common with the Pink Floyd early Columbia 45s they were only made in quantities of about a couple of hundred, hence their extreme scarcity today.

The sleeve is very nice - the thick paper has on the front the impression of the outer edge of the record and only fairly light creasing, whilst the back has the slight impression of the raised ridge around the centre label. The paper has yellowed just a little and on both sides there is written in felt tip the number 24120.The sleeve is exceedingly clean otherwise and is graded at EXCELLENT MINUS.

The disc is similarly very clean and shiny and only has light hairlines through taking out of the cover and light use and again is graded at EXCELLENT MINUS.There is however etched into the label the initials VOK which stand for 'Voice Of Kenya' , the radio station where this copy was originally sent.Incidentally the white paper sleeve in the scans is a new one I put on.

This copy of 'One Inch Rock' does not have the insert that comes with some editions - I only know some apparently had one because it was mentioned in Record Collector[!] - in over 20 years of collecting I've never seen any T.Rex RZ promos with an insert.Anyone knows what one looks like!?

Overall a splendid example of one of the premier Tyrannosaurus Rex collectables - check my feedbacks and bid with confidence!

Good luck!
