Description

You are bidding on a RARE ORIGINAL 1965 GREEK LP by MANOS HADJIDAKIS called "Gioconda's Smile". This is a rare LP on silver/blue Columbia label and featuring the lengedary Quincy Jones on production!! Hadjidakis is one of the greatest Greek composers. An irreconcilable pioneer, an enemy of pomposity and solidified views, a lover of “youth”, nonconformist to the core, and armed with Greek and world culture, he was able to combine classical with folk music, thus creating a “new” sound, a “new” type of song, with roots both in the East and the West. This is one of his best albums (and my personal favourite) and one of the top-5 classic albums of 20th century music in Greece. A must!

The record and cover are in very good condition. The front laminated cover looks nice and in the back cover there are some marks as you can see in the picture -- and in the vinyl area, are a lot of thin hairlines, nothing deep and serious. I listened to this record just yesterday to have a clearer opinion and there were NO jumps, NO pops, NO sticks, but there was some noise from the scratces in the background. LOW starting price for its rarity!!!!!
