Here is an incredible rarity from one of the most important gospel singers ever, the great Mahalia Jackson. This is an album and a postcard sent from Jackson to Michael Vosse, who in 1968 was trying to organize a benefit concert for the original Ms. Jackson. On the album, she has circled songs she might perform at the concert and written notes to Vosse such as "pretty good but slow." On the postcard, sent from the Bahamas in March '68, Jackson thanks him for helping her, but frets that many stars have yet to commit to appear. She tells him Dick Van Dyke has sent a telegram that he'll try to appear, and asks him to follow up. It is fully signed "Mahalia Jackson." I've never seen a Mahalia Jackson autograph and to find a postcard and letter like this is truly extroardinary. I purchased this directly from Vosse, and guarantee it (like everything I sell) with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity. The postcard is in excellent condition, the album cover has some wear but is overall Very Good+, and the disc has some marks, and I'd grade it as being in Good condition.
