MAC (Macintosh Plus) – / FLORAL SHOPPE
One of the defining records of the entire VAPORWAVE movement — Floral Shoppe by Macintosh Plus, the alias of electronic artist Vektroid. Originally released in 2011, the album became one of vaporwave’s most recognizable and influential releases, with its surreal pink artwork and sample-driven sound helping establish the genre’s visual and musical language.

The sound is pure digital nostalgia: slowed and stretched ’80s pop, hazy synths, chopped samples, hypnotic repetition and surreal mall-music atmosphere. The album takes familiar sounds and bends them into something strangely nostalgic and dreamlike. Its best-known track, “420 / ” (“Lisa Frank 420 / Modern Computing”), famously reworks Diana Ross’s “It’s Your Move.”
And this is the format you want on the shelf: the striking pink artwork paired with a gorgeous bubblegum-pink 33⅓ RPM LP.
