Scarce original 29 year old German-only issue by the legendary Amon Duul II ... lesser seen, hard to find, the melodies and performances feature glimmering trails of yesteryear...
VORTEX delivers Amon Duul II in better form from their last album with the re-formation of classic members ... the songs are for a large part composed with a great taste. Yeti / Dance Of The Lemmings era member Daniel Fichelscher reforms with original Amon Duul II members, most notably with the return of vocalist Renate Aschauer-Knaup (very prominent on each tune). There's a eccentric ingredient and typical Amon Duul's soundmark (on "vibes in the Air" and "Wings of the wind" which reiterates with the "Wolf City" and "Vive La Trance" era). Not too many ballads, some cool folk instrumentations, solid rock structures with nice electric guitar sections & dense sax parts. A rather inegal effort but there's some convincing reminiscences of fundamental sonorities which have made the band's originality.

CONDITION: The glossy laminated cover is clean, glossy "EX" (excellent) very collectible look without the need to upgrade. Personal keeper.
