*** ATTENTION!

Please carefully read our entire listing to answer any questions you may have,  including discount shipping rates at end of listing; then contact us directly with any other information you may need.

WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS:  If you have a question on orders received, please contact us.  We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied.   When leaving Feedback, please consider the following:  eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5  reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities.   SO please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music!  We have served thousands of satisfied customers  - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records.   Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of  2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.

We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays.  Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday.   We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.  We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order.  Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS:  We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping.  Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.

As always, thank you for your support!

1967 Organ/Guitar GARAGE Rarity VINYL Collectible!

        The Baskerville Hounds

~ "Featuring Space Rock, Part 2"

                                    USA - DOT RECORDS - 25, 823

Very hard to find ~~ Rare & sought after 1967 Original vinyl, rollicking organ dominated slice of garage rock...

In 1964 singer/guitarist Dante Rossi, leader of one of the most popular west side bands, The Grasshoppers, decided to form a new five-piece band called The Dantes. He brought in Bill Emery (bass/vocals), Doug McCutcheon (keyboards/vocals), Larry Meece (lead guitar/vocals) and John Kirkpatrick (drums). Soon, the Dantes caught the attention of WHK deejay Ron Brittain, who became their manager, and changed their name to the Tulu Babies. The following year, Tulu Babies released The Hurtin' Kind, which became a local hit. Many years later a sought after cool garage collectible. The producer of the record, Jim Testa, then became the group's manager, and changed their name once again. As The Baskerville Hounds, the group released two songs which made it to Billboard. Debbie, only got to No. 99, but Space Rock, Pts. I & II, reached No. 60. The latter's popularity was greatly due to Space Rock which became the theme song for the local Friday night TV show, Ghoulardi.

The Baskerville Hounds often drew up to 1,000 fans at their club gigs, and opened for the Rolling Stones at Public Hall in 1965. That same year, the group began a series of lineup changes. Drummer Kirkpatrick was first to leave, replaced by Michael Macron (Bobby Dillinger took over in 1970). McCutcheon left in '66, replaced by Jack Topper. Meece left for the service in '68, and Roger Lewis then stepped in, later replaced by Danny Cox. Tom Evans came in on bass, later replaced by Roland Solomon. By 1967, The Baskerville Hounds released their only album, which included songs, Last Night On the Back Porch and Caroline and Space Rock Part 2 ... A rollicking, organ-propelled slice of garage rock, the single was quickly picked up and issued by Dot Records. Cleverly released as 1967's "The Baskerville Hounds Featuring Space Rock, Part 2", the album offers up a mix of popular covers and originals. Produced by Testa, the set is particularly impressive. While all five member were credited as singers that gives a varied sound. The Beatles "Penny Lane" and "I'm a Believer" are solid. As well, original numbers such as the fuzz guitar-propelled "Sad Eyed Lady", "Please Say" and the title track are definitely all worth hearing. Hardly one of rock's "pretty boy" combos (the liner notes described Rossi as having a "comic appearance"), the doubled breasted brown suits sure didn't help their appearance - they looked like an exhausted burial party!
