Background: This auction is presented on behalf of Stan "the Record Man" Lewis of Shreveport, Louisiana. Stan “the Record Man” Lewis established the country’s first mail order music company in 1948. The first man to introduce Elvis Presley to a national radio audience. Author of the timeless classic "Susie Q". Record producer, label owner, song writer and music pioneer. He was the first record dealer to advertise nationwide via the powerful 10,000watt radio waves of the KWKH transmitter. He sold predominately rock, blues and gospel music, and when he started his own record label in 1963, North Louisiana became a destination for many musicians. In his catalogs, Lewis has an incredible collection of rare and obscure recordings by black artists; through his lifelong endeavors he has helped to preserve an important piece of American music history. Some of the music recorded on his labels Jewel, Paula, Ronn and Ace are enjoying a renaissance in Europe today. He is offering LP's, 45's, CD's, Cassettes and Videotapes he has collected over the years from his inventory and others! We will be presenting hundreds of these items over the next few weeks.
