Description
This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Lou Donaldson “Wailing with Lou” on the New York 23 labels (both sides) of Blue Note BLP 1545. The flat rim playing surface is in exceptional condition, with just an inaudible scuff and handling mark on Side 1; in all other respects, it retains a high luster; perhaps played once. The West 63rd frame cover has rubbing/wear – but no splits – on the top and bottom seams and a ½” ding at the bottom right corner; the back slick shows normal age toning, a 1 ½” chip at the center of the right edge, a light check mark at the top corners, and a stamped “#883” at the top left corner.
