Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Lou Donaldson “Quartet Quintet Sextet” on the Lexington Ave. labels of Blue Note BLP 1537. The flat rim playing surface is in excellent condition, with a beautiful luster; just three unobtrusive tics near the end of the first track on Side 2 (during an aggressive trombone solo). The coated reverse-frame Lexington Avenue cover is also in excellent condition – bright and clean throughout; slight rubbing on the top seam; moderate rubbing on the spine; the bottom seam shows normal rubbing and a neat 2” repair at the opening. Personnel include Kenny Dorham, Blue Mitchell, Elmo Hope, Percy Heath, and Art Blakey. $1,500.00.
