LIVE YARDBIRDS with Led Zeppelin’s JIMMY PAGE Promo copy
Very Rare incl. Early Dazed & Confused, White Summer
I bought this back in the early 1970’s from a, now long defunct, record dealer (no – I don’t mean he’s dead, he just doesn’t deal in records anymore!). He said that this was a pre-release, dealer only, white label, promotional copy of a Yardbirds’ album that was released briefly in the United States only. Apparently it had been withdrawn due to pressure from Jimmy Page. I assume as Led Zeppelin had now been launched, he deemed it confusing having a Yardbirds album in circulation with competing material.
This is very much a Jimmy Page led album and his early version of Dazed and Confused (simply called I’m Confused) along with his composition White Summer give a unique insight into the ideas that became Led Zeppelin.
This album is hard to find, especially in this white label, promo format.
