Payment

Terms & conditions regarding payment.

• If you are taking advantage of combined shipping and there are other items you are interested in that are due to end in three days time from when you have won the first item, payment can be made when you have won all of the items.  If you win an item and want combined shipping on further items that end after three days of the first items end time which you have won ending, you must pay for that first item and the shipping cost when the first item has ended.  Any further items that you buy which are to be sent in a combined parcel, postage will be adjusted accordingly when you have finished shopping with me.
• Payment is due at the end of the auction or at least within three calender days of the end date and time.  If there is a payment problem, you must contact me.
• If payment is via an e-cheque through Pay Pal, I will advise when the e-cheque is due to clear.
• If you live in a remote area and have not had shipping costs confirmed by me you will be invoiced separately via pay pal and expected to pay what ever the shortfall may be, your parcel will only then be dispatched.
• If you are paying via a UK postal order, ask for an uncrossed postal order at the Post Office order as these are treated as cash, crossed postal orders have to be paid in to my bank which will mean there will be a delay until it clears.  
• Always contact me via the actual ebay item that you have won.
• If an item is ever open to non Overseas bidders; Cheques or money orders from non UK buyers 'must' be in Pounds Stirling.

UK ISLANDS, HIGHLANDS & NORTHERN IRELAND (if applicable OVERSEAS)

UK

If 3 day courier (Hermes) has been selected as the UK postage method. Bidders in  The Channel Islands & Scilly Isles MUST contact me for a quote, Hermes to not deliver to your location therefore postage will be with Royal Mail or another carrier. 

If 48 hour courier (UPS) has been selected as the UK postage method. Bidders in Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Channel Islands, Scilly Isles, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight or other remote areas MUST contact me for a postal quote before bidding. If you are not sure if your location is remote, message your post code to me and I will check for you.   Delivery for these areas may take longer, possibly from 3 to 5 working days.

• In both cases above, if you live in a remote area and have not had shipping costs confirmed by me and you go ahead and pay, you will be invoiced separately via pay pal and expected to pay what ever the shortfall may be, your parcel will only then be dispatched.

If Royal Mail has been selected for postage for UK, the cost stated covers all UK Mainland Scottish Islands and Highlands and other UK Islands.

Specific Details Regarding Hermes Follows:

• If Hermes is the method of dispatch, the cost for posting on the invoice to you does not include you signing for the parcel.  If you require it, ask me to add the cost for signed for to the cost of shipping. To have the item sent signed for (the cost is £1.00 GBP in addition to the specified amount for shipping on the invoice).  
• If  you don't want the signed for service, you will need to contact  me  with to let me know about a safe place  at your property or a suitable neighbour that can take your parcel if you are not in when Hermes deliver.  If you do not message me and then pay for your item without telling me a safe place/neighbour Ravenscraigbooks will take that as acknowledgement from you that you will be at home to take delivery or that you are happy for the Hermes agent to leave your parcel at your property in what he/she considers a safe place.
• Parcles left in the safe place or with a neighbour is at your own risk.
• If you have instructed me to charge you to have your item sent signed for via Hermes;  three delivery attempts to your address will be made, as a signature is required, Hermes expect a signature, there are no exceptions to this.  A card is always left by the Hermes delivery agent if you are not in, this will have a  contact number on which you will be expected to call to arrange a suitable re-delivery.  If you can not find a card Hermes customer service number is; 0871 2461583, lines are open; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the weekend. Have your tracking number from the ebay listing with you as this will be required. After the third failed delivery attempt the parcel will be returned to me.  If the item is returned to me, you would then be expected to pay the cost of shipping for the item to be re-sent to you.  I will invoice you for the re-shipping cost via Pay Pal.
• My Hermes parcels are tracked and the end destination is recorded, ebay recognise this as 'the parcel having been delivered to you'.  
• Your contact telephone number is used and is a requirement with  Hermes, a Hermes booking can not be made without it.  Your number is not shared with any third parties and removed from the Hermes system when the parcel has been delivered.
• Hermes do not deliver to PO Box addresses, if you have a PO Box you are expected to provide me with an alternative non PO Box address.  If that is not possible then I will select an alternative to Hermes which is likely to be more expensive.
• Items are only usually collected on week days, if you want Saturday collection, let me know and I will add the additional cost to your invoice or invoice you via Pay Pal. (the cost is £1.00 GBP in addition to the specified amount for shipping on the invoice)
• You will be advised of courier booking as soon as the booking has been made via an email from Hermes.  Tracking information will be added to the order details.
• If your parcel is heavy, please ensure that you lift with care.
• This is classed as a Door to Door service by Hermes, the anticipated delivery timescale for non remote areas is 3 working day.  

Specific Details Regarding UPS Delivery  

(48 Hour courier) Follows:

• Your contact telephone number is used and is a requirement with UPS, a UPS booking can not take place with out it. Your number is not shared with any third parties and removed from the UPS system when the parcel has been delivered.
• This service is classed as an Economy service by UPS, if you want a guarenteed or faster service you will need to contact me first and I will establish what services are available and what the extra cost will be.
• You will be advised by me of  the expected UPS collection of your parcel as soon as the booking is confirmed.
• If your parcel is heavy, please ensure that you lift with care.
• UPS do not deliver to PO Box addresses, if you have a PO Box you are expected to provide me with an alternative non PO Box address.
• The tracking number will be added to the order details as soon as your parcel has been collected.  I book UPS via www.interparcel.com the tracking number provided will need to be entered via the interparcel web site to view your parcels progress. 
• The anticipated delivery via this service for non remote areas is 1 to 2 working days (remote areas can possibly take 3 to 5 working days). 
• UPS make three delivery attempts to your address, as a signature is required, UPS expect a signature, you can give me a safe place for your parcel to be left that I can add to the order, leaving in a safe place is at your own risk.   After the third failed delivery attempt the parcel will be returned to me.  If the item is returned to me, you would then be expected to pay the cost of shipping for the item to be re-sent to you.   I will invoice you for the re-shipping cost via Pay Pal.
• If you miss a delivery, UPS will leave a card letting you know.  If you can not find a card, if the tracking for your parcel says that delivery failed, you will need to contact Interparcel who are the booking agent I use for  UPS booking to arrange re-delivery. The number is; 08719 112113, lines are open; 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Have your tracking number from the ebay listing with you as this will be required.

Specific Details For Royal Mail Delivery Follows:

• Dispatch for an item which is being sent via Royal Mail is usually carried out the next working day following your payment arriving with me.  
• Royal Mail do not deliver signed for to PO Box addresses, if you have a PO Box you are expected to provide me with an alternative non PO Box address.
• The Serial Number for your parcel will be added to the ebay order following dispatch.
• If your parcel is heavy, please ensure that you lift with care.
• Items sent via first and second class have anticipated delivery timescales which can be viewed on the Royal Mail web site. If you want your item the next day, the item will need to be sent via a guarenteed service, this will cost you more.  Just ask me for a quote and I will advise. 
• If you miss delivery from Royal Mail the Post Person will leave a card telling you which Delivery Office they have taken your mail to. Take that card, with proof of your address, to the Delivery Office to collect it. You also have the option to ask for the item to be redelivered to your local Post Office for a charge to you of £1.50.
  If its easier, someone else can take your card, and proof of your identity and address, and collect it for you.  Royal Mail Signed For is kept at the designated sorting office for one week. After that, they will return it back to me.  If the item is returned to me, you would then be expected to pay the cost of shipping for the item to be re-sent to you.  I will invoice you for the re-shipping cost via Pay Pal.

• Your parcel will always be packed with care.
• If you want the parcel delivered by a different method or via a faster service, just ask.  
• All postal methods with the exception of Hermes must be sent signed for.  
• If you want your parcel delivered to an alternative address, this can only be done before any courier booking has been made.
• As soon as your parcel has been collected or posted, I will mark as dispatched. 
• If your parcel is heavy, please ensure that you lift with care.
• It is rare that there will be a delay with any of the methods of dispatch, if there was, I would asvise you right away.
• I do not pass on charges for packaging materials, handling, fuel costs or the extra fees that ebay now charge sellers on the cost of postage.  I only charge you what the postal service costs.  Please bear that in mind when you leave a feedback score for postage charges.  
• If postage ever comes out for less than you have paid, I will return the over payment to you via the Pay Pal transaction relating to your purchase.
• I am happy to combine items for shipping, just let me know all of the items you are interested in and I will advise you of the cost and postal options available to you, see below for more details.

IF THE ITEM IS OPEN TO OVERSEAS BIDDERS; Bidders 'MUST' ask for a postal quote pre bidding. All overseas post if within the allowed weight and dimension limits for Air and Surface Mail will be sent via Internationally Signed For or Airsure . If the item falls outside Air or Surface mail weight and dimensions limits the item will be sent via Parcelforce or another courier, this is non negotiable and the best quote will always be put forward for your consideration. International buyers please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges (typically collected on delivery or pickup) are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the item price or shipping charges. Overseas postage is possible but you will need to contact me first to establish the cost.  All items must be sent via a signed for method.
