Lightmen Plus One Fancy Pants LP - Rare TX Spiritual Jazz Rare 1971 LP from Bubbha Thomas's Houston, TX jazz ensemble, the Lightmen Plus One The Lightmen Plus One: Fancy Pants (Judnell 1002)
A 1971 spiritual jazz LP from drummer Bubbha Thomas that features the Lightmen in a range of styles, from the moody Gabor Szabo-style groove of "On the Road Home" to the slow funk of "Ashie", to some more "out" moments.
This copy is far from perfect, but it very seldom turns up and I have graded it conservatively.
Condition Vinyl: VG Cover: VG-
The jacket is in basically good shape but for some ugly marks. Somebody made large black marker patches on both the front and back covers (see detail). There is also a light stain across the lightbulb image on the front cover and some modest shelf wear. The seams and spine have some marks but are in strong shape.
The disc is somewhere between VG and VG+. It's fairly shiny but with a lot of light marks. For the most part the record plays with just occasional and modest crackle, but on "Blue Tip" there is a persistent click for much of the first minute or two. I see no gouging and a good cleaning of the record might make this inaudible; I have not attempted one. If I can figure out how to embed a player, I will provide sound clips.
