Description

This is a brand new, vintage, unopened 2 LP set, still sealed in cellophane!! It is James Levine conducting The Philadelphia Orchestra in Mahler's Symphony No. 9. Mahler composed his Symphony No. 9 in 1910 and it was not performed till a year after his death in 1912 in Vienna. Mahler wrote his Symphony No. 9 during the darkest point in his life, after being advised of his impending premature death by his doctor. This 2 LP set was recorded and released in 1979 by RCA Records, over 36 years ago. There is narrative on the back of the cover which continues on the inside covers, based on photos I have seen of other examples of this album. This is a very rare find. You will not find another in this pristine condition, the definition of a MINT grading.
