Leo Rowsome King Of The Pipers LP 1959 Rare Folk First pressing Claddagh CC1
The first LP of Uilleann pipe music ever, published as Claddagh CC1, in 1959.
This First pressing has this picture of a fox-hunt on the front next to Leo tootling.
It is pretty rare, since almost all of the copies of this record (anything later than the limited first pressing) had a very different sleeve with a black and white photo of Leo.
Leo is highly regarded as a piper hence his soubriquet "King Of The Pipers" he was also one of the best pipe-makers who ever lived.
One of the great classics and should be known by all pipers.
This particular copy belonged to Anstice G Parke, yes THE Anstice G Parke, who has carefully written her Dublin address in blue ink at the margin, and dated 1961 at the top of the flip back cover, see pic-also just her name on label and on the inner sleeve.
Elsewhere, there's a tiny tiny bit of sticker damage I think to cover at top right.
