Description

Blue Note 1538 by Lee Morgan: Presenting Lee Morgan: Indeed. Clarence Sharp alto, with Horace Silver, Wilbur Ware, and Philly Joe.  Cover has rubwear front and back, foxing along the edges, chipping along the spine and top seam, bottom seam completely split, tear on cover and bent corner upper right. Deep groove labels have lots of spindle marks, some of which continue off the label and across the grooves, and are very obvious, though shallow.  Script 767 Lexington Ave. NYC address. Earlug and RVG in deadwax. Flat edge disc. Back cover has the 767 Lexington Ave, New York 21 address.  The vinyl has about 90% of its gloss, with lots of tiny scuffs, hairline marks, and scratches. There are no deep gouges, or deep scratches. The vinyl is still smooth to the touch. This plays better than it looks, with the music very much up front, and some minor static beneath the music. Overall this disc plays quite well, and Lee Morgan's music jumps out of the grooves, as it was meant to. This record has obviously been to a lot of parties, and although it still plays through very acceptably on my system, if you have a super sensitive cartridge, or are tracking under 1&1/2 grams, please don't buy it. Wait for a better copy.  If you are a collector who likes first pressings, and filters with your ears, here's an acceptable copy at a decent price. A mint copy of this sold recently on ebay for $2400. Grade cover and record VG-.  The buyer must be completely satisfied or I will refund your purchase price plus postage both ways.   Overseas postage includes registered mail. No E Checks accepted. YOUR SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED. PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK AND READ THE TERMS OF THE AUCTION.
