Its a classic early Blue Note LP on offer here - Lee Morgan's Candy released 1958. DEEP GROOVE 47 West 63rd st on label - RVG and "ear" in dead wax. PLAY GRADE: VG+ - LP plays with a few pops here and there - a SMALL bit of noise in quieter passages and during lead ins to tracks. There is one feelable mark that runs across "Who Do You Hope I Love" - it causes an occasional tick through parts of the track, but does not overpower - luckily its a pretty up number and the pop is mostly buried under the music. There are a few other light marks (2 or 3 a side), that look to be from handling and do not effect play. COVER: VG- grade due to seam split of 2 inches bottom center and 3 inch seam split to top R corner. Front cover retains lots of color and image looks great, small bit of dust wear that may be cleaned off. Will leave that to you. Back cover shows a bit more wear, text has a bit of wear at center but is all legible and mostly unmarred except for a few red spots near new releases text...candle wax ? wine ? cake? its hard to tell.... Spine is beautiful and fully legible. No tape or writing anywhere. LABELS: VG+ little evidence of play handling, some age spotting to white of label. Plays well throughout - a fine copy of this rare LP. Reserve price reflects recent auctions/popsike.com.
++ On playing this LP again this afternoon - I did notice a bit of high frequency distortion on a couple parts particularly on inner tracks & grooves nearest to end of sides...++
