TL-ST-135 - Atlantic Records Promotional LP for Record Department-In-Store-Play - Led Zeppelin/Dusty Springfield [1969] This record has one side containing selections from Dusty Springfield Atlantic LP 8214 "Dusty In Memphis" and Led Zeppelin Atlantic LP 8216 "Led Zeppelin".


The album includes songs from Zepplin's first album that are
periodically interrupted by some unintentionally hilarious voice-overs encouraging
the prospective consumer to "fly higher with the Led Zeppelin."



FUN FACT:

In November 1968 during Dusty's Memphis sessions Springfield suggested to Wexler (one of the heads of Atlantic Records) that he should sign the newly-formed UK band, Led Zeppelin. She knew their bass guitarist, John Paul Jones, from his session work on her earlier albums. Without ever having seen them and partly on her advice, Wexler signed Led Zeppelin to a $200,000 deal with Atlantic, which, at the time, was the biggest contract for a new band.


Prior to signing with Atlantic Records the band went by the name and was originally formed as the New Yardbirds in 1968, the band consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham.

They are widely considered to be one of the most successful, innovative and influential rock groups in history. The band have sold over 200 million albums worldwide according to some sources,while other sources state that they have sold in excess of 300 million records, including 111.5 million certified units in the United States. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Led Zeppelin are the fourth highest selling music act in the US and one of only three acts to earn four or more Diamond albums.

 Extremely Rare Led Zeppelin Promo Featuring Dusty Springfield on the A side and Led Zeppelin on the B side. Absolutely top 10 rarest Zeppelin Albums ever released. This is only the Vinyl. No Cover. The album is framed as shown. If you can pair it with a cover it's worth around $150. Few light scuffs. Plays nicely. In my non-expert opinion the Vinyl is in VG+
