I
Original promotional “Sample Copy Not For Sale” white “ZOSO” four-symbol 1851 Broadway, New York label DJ radio station copy of Led Zeppelin’s “Untitled” album, also known as Led Zeppelin IV. This DJ copy was shipped to radio stations several months, circa August-October 1971, before the album’s official release date. 1st print gatefold cover contains a large black “ZOSO” song title hype sticker with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10023” address and a round orange “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” sticker. 1st print special promotional “Sample Copy Not For Sale” labels that also contain the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address and the catalog number SD 7208. The vinyl, just like the Near Mint Minus cover, is also in great condition. It’s fantastic sound is not only justified by the excellent condition but also mostly, due to the outstanding prime cut mastering performed by George Peckham, who we also know by the nickname “Porky”. His etchings “Porky” on Side 1 and “Pecko Duck” on Side 2 can be found in the runout grooves of the vinyl. To me, this promotional copy’s sound is much more vivid and distinct than the one on the commercial copy. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST-A-712285-F PORKY AT/AT PR / Side 2 - ST-A-712286-C PECKO DUCK PR. This promotional DJ radio station copy comes with the original raw textured matte brown thick paper inner sleeve with the lyrics on one side and the track titles and credits on the other which include the fifth “ZOSO” symbol attributed to Sandy Denny.
II
Original promotional EP with the “Stairway to Heaven” track from the Led Zeppelin IV album. Issued only as a promotional release in the US this ultra-rare EP contains the PR-269 blue labels with the “Atlantic Promotional EP” banner and has the 7:55 LP version of the track in Stereo on both sides. This incredibly rare copy, especially in such condition, comes in the original Atlantic Records sleeve with the Atlantic fan logo. Pressed by Specialty Records Corporation located in Olyphant, PA, this 7” 45 RPM EP has the same matrix numbers on both sides: sp ST-PR-269-1.

The cover of the promotional white label issue is in great Near Mint Minus condition. The vinyl is graded as Very Good Plus. It retains its original factory gloss only having some light non-feelable surface marks and hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits. The clean snow white labels are in stunning Near Mint Minus condition only having just a couple of very light spindle marks that can be seen only under a strong light source. The vinyl sounds amazing only having some very light occasional static and a couple of light clicks on the fourth track of Side 1. Perhaps they will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, the light static and clicks could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
The sleeve of the promotional EP is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits. I grade the 45 RPM vinyl as Near Mint Minus for Side 1 and Excellent Plus for Side 2 as it has just a couple of very light small surface scuffs from the paper sleeve. The labels of this "Atlantic Promotional EP" are in very clean Near Mint Minus condition. The vinyl sounds great only having some very light occasional static which most likely will go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI machine
