A worldwide RARITY—unique Australasian cover. PROMO issue with ‘SAMPLE RECORD Not For Resale’ sticker on back cover (see photo).
On offer here is the EXTREMELY RARE NEW ZEALAND first issue of LED ZEPPELIN’s debut album, with an alternative back sleeve displaying comprehensive liner-notes. The Australian first issue had a similar cover, but there are some notable differences (see below):
Front cover:
NEW ZEALAND ‘LED ZEPPELIN’ is red.
AUSTRALIA ‘LED ZEPPELIN’ is orange.
Back cover:
NEW ZEALAND (1) ‘LED ZEPPELIN’ is red, (2) Only STEREO catalogue number is displayed (never issued in MONO), (3) Band name and STEREO catalogue number appear on spine, (4) Fully laminated flip-back, (5) Stylus, cartridge & record care info (only on NZ issue).
AUSTRALIA (1) ‘LED ZEPPELIN’ is black, (2) STEREO and MONO catalogue numbers are displayed, (3) Band name and two catalogue numbers appear on far-right of back cover (parallel to spine), (4) Matt finish with flip-back (laminated on front).
NB: In addition, the manufacturer details appear differently.

back VG++ beautiful laminated finish; insignificant ring-wear (mainly top); minor creases along spine & flip-back (parallel to seams), minor surface wear; PROMO issue with ‘SAMPLE RECORD Not For Resale’ sticker.
Record:
VG++ glossy sheen; very light surface scuffs (most are superficial—sounds great overall), surface mark on trk 2—does not affect play; clean labels (light impression from small stickers being removed—both sides).
NB: This is the best-graded New Zealand first issue of LED ZEPPELIN’s debut album that I have ever seen, so please BID with confidence!
