Description
This a selection of six albums representing Led Zeppelins ground breaking last studio album, In Through the Out Door. The album was recorded in Stockholm in 1979 and was a fusion of new ideas and new inspiration following a long break form recording and touring. This was sadly thier last studio album together as a result of the death of drummer, John Bonham in 1980.
When the album was released it was in a paper bag. This was because the inner sleeve depicted a bar room scene from six different angles (a - f). When purchasing the album because of the paper bag, you didn't know which sleeve you would get. The second inner sleeve was a double sided picture of items lying on top of the bar. This was in black and white. If you then added water, it would colour itself in (yes like those colouring books when you were a kid!). The sleeve was designed by the famous album designer hypnosis, who were responsible for so many famous album sleeves of the 1970s (including Zeppelins 'Houses of the Holy').
All six albums have the brown paper bags whih all have no rips of tears. They have bee kept in plastic oversleeves for safety. Sleeve 'D' has slight wear to the top but nothing of real note.
All of the inner sleeve (a - f) are in extremely good condition.
All of the 'colour me in' sleeves are mint and have not been coloured in. Again to find six all with these sleeves uncoloured is extremely rare. At this late stage in the game there are not a lot left.
It is VERY RARE to see six copies of this album together. This coupled with the high standard of thier preservation makes them extremely collectable. A set like this went for £1350 in 2004 at Southerbies of London. This is rare opportunity to bid on a piece of fantastic rock and roll memorabilia. I have no doubt that this item will accelerate in value considerably if kept in this condition. A worthy investment.
