Description
In Through the Out Door, 6 Album Set containing each of the 6 covers labelled A through F, in really first class condition and absolutely suitable for framing or display.
This set has been collected over the past 10 years and is reluctantly being sold as I slim down my vinyl collection. Each of the 6 albums comes with the brown paper outer, the outer picture cover and the white inner sleeve. Note that the white inner sleeve is treated with colours that only show when they are painted with water. That's why some copies have a "coloured" inner and some are just white - the coloured ones have been wet at some stage.
All the LPs are UK Pressings
Sleeve A: Cover Mint- (slightest crease marks under strong light, barely visible, anyone else would state "new" condition) no cracks in spine, still very "square". Inner white sleeve also Mint- certainly no water colour marks and only the slightest hint of crease where the vinyl sits. Vinyl Ex- slight surface marks and one small mark on lead-in but plays brilliantly.
Sleeve B: Cover Mint- (splitting hairs again. there is the slightest <1cm mark on the spine of the cover in the centre where the album touches it and some tiny pressure marks on the front but other than that it's fresh, square, and spotless). Inner sleeve EX as under a strong light you can see a hint of green where it must have picked up some moisture - certainly has not been painted but there is the suggestion of "green" on the ashtray. I'd rather be honest than have anyone disappointed. Vinyl is probably EX- as it has some surface dust and marks but is not scratched in any way.
Sleeve C: Cover Mint- (one or two minor creases on front that show under a strong light, otherwise it's perfect) Inner sleeve is perfect. Vinyl looks to be Ex++ with just some surface dust. I've not played it but I'm sure it would be fine, if there was an issue a quick wash would certainly sort it out.
Sleeve D: Cover Mint. Clean, square, bright etc. Inner sleeve Mint and Vinyl EX+ as it's a bit dusty.
Sleeve E: Cover Mint. If I brought this home from the shop today in this condition I'd be very pleased indeed. And it's 27 years old! Inner sleeve mint and untouched. Vinyl EX- as it has a 2cm surface scuff on the A side. It does not sound (at all) when played but again, I'd rather grade things down than up.
Sleeve F: Cover Mint. Same comments as "E". Inner cover Mint. Vinyl is EX+, as it's a bit dusty, but definitetly no scratches. I have not tried to clean it as I don't have a prof. record cleaning machine and would not want to damage it.
I have tried to be very clear about the condition of the set as I really want someone to be happy with the purchase. If you win the auction, rest assured that you only have to contact me with any problems and we'll sort things out to your satisfaction. Check my feedback - I have bought lots of vinyl on eBay over the years and I know what it means to be pleased when you open a package.
I've set a very realistic reserve (way less than half the Record Collector 2006 list for the set) as I do want to sell.
Good luck!
If you are not in the UK, please contact me for postage costs before you bid. I only charge packing/postage at cost (I hate sellers who make a profit on postage). I have suggested £10 postage but I will refund any surplus. The set will be packed very well.
PS. I only play my vinyl on an Avid Volvere TT with Dynavector MC cartidges - they are always well treated!
