Description

A 1st issue of Zep III on the UK Red & Plum Atlantic label. Matrix A5/B5. Etchings 'So Mote It Be/Do What Thou Wilt'. This version is effectively the very 1st cut of this Lp, but please be aware that this is the second variation of the label. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by Ernest J Day. Be careful with the covers - this is the true 1st issue anything else just isn't 1st issue. Also included is the original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve - date coded 10/70 - the month of release. So, this is 100% original and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/NM) Wowzers this is the kind of slab of vinyl you can only dream about. Perfect in every way...Under close inspection we could only make out one light mark - nothing remotely troublesome. Surfaces are shiny like new and just look at those label shots. Unbelievable! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. This LP is truly outstanding - I can confidently say I have never heard a rendition of Zep III this good. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference - Nada! Nothing..Zilch! We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles [literally] the whole way through. The audio performance is mind-blowing..unbelievable transparency...you can here the vocal echos etc. No distortion anywhere absolutely stone cold solid performance and a sheer joy to play once.
Cover (Ex+) As if the vinyl weren't enough of a show-stopper the cover is miraculously well preserved too. The owner must have been one fastidious individual! Almost perfect..the only thing I can pick out...and I'm being picky...is there is very very light ageing at the perimeter. Other than that it is nigh on perfect. Pretty much perfectly white and without the usual wear on the diecuts or openings. The spine is 100% intact with no wear at all - i think I've only ever seen that once. Interior is absolutely immaculate just a slight sticker mark. The rear has one small mark toward the top - it that really is it. Superb! The spinning wheel is fully operational and overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. A delight to even hold...
Inner (Ex) A touch of ageing. No splits.
